The workshop which was organized by Chizuru Azuma was to create a big artwork together with people from all generations.
The rules are simple. Everyone will draw anything they would like on a big campus. They are allowed to draw over other people’s drawings, and this represents a diverse society where each people have their own voice.
A chalk called ‘Kitpas’ doesn’t create dusts, and was used for drawing. This chalk is made of a shell of scallop and is non-toxic, easy to wash out and safe for the children to use.
Using their creativity, people draw lines without being bound to rules. Creating a piece together in collaboration showed us a glimpse of community where everyone is respected in a diverse society.
