Zhang Liang was the first Chinese and only the second person in the world to accomplish the Explorers Grand Slam, a truly global achievement. Having completed all 14 of the world’s 8,000-meter peaks, conquered the highest summits on all seven continents, and reached both the North and South Poles, Zhang has continued to take on some of the most extreme challenges on the planet. He spoke about the meaning behind his relentless pursuit of such challenges and what he has gained through them. This was a rare opportunity to also experience, through his photos and videos, the breathtaking landscapes he has witnessed on his extraordinary journeys.
