The Beauty and Diversity of Peru’s Oceans

Peru is often associated with mountainous nature, such as the UNESCO World Heritage site of Machu Picchu and the Andes Mountains. However, its coastline stretches for about 2,500 km, hosting a rich marine ecosystem that is perhaps less well known. In a lecture by Daniel Cáceres Bartra, Guest Educator and marine biologist from Peru, we learned about the beauty of Peru’s oceans, the ecosystems they support, and the current threats facing these vibrant marine environments.
