Gazing at Orongo Cape

After three days of port visits, the ship, anchored off Easter Island, slowly began to move. As it sailed past the island, we caught sight of Orongo Cape, famous for the Birdman legend. Orongo Cape was once the site where island warriors would leap from steep cliffs into the sea, racing to be the first to bring back seabird eggs from Motu Nui Island across the water. Viewed from the ship’s deck, Easter Island still exuded a mysterious aura, creating a scene that you could continue gazing at forever.
