We arrived in Nawiliwili on the island of Kauai, to the northwest of Oahu. Kauai earns its name of “Garden Island” from its breathtaking natural landscapes – majestic mountains with graceful ridgelines, dramatic valleys, and refreshing waterfalls, all preserved in their untouched beauty. Here, you can also encounter an unpretentious side of Hawai’i, different from the resort atmosphere. As we sampled local foods and strolled through the town, we were able to experience the authentic, down-to-earth charm of Hawai’i.
