Call to Montevideo (Uruguay)

The day after departing from Buenos Aires, we arrived in Montevideo, the capital of neighboring Uruguay. Developed along the banks of the Río de la Plata that flows between Uruguay and Argentina, Montevideo may be small in size, but it offers much to see. The city features a charming historic Old Town filled with colonial era architecture, as well as a newer district lined with beautiful white-sand beaches. We also savored Uruguay’s famous charcoal-grilled steak, asado, reflecting the country’s status as one of the world’s leading consumers of beef. With both our hearts and stomachs full, we returned to the ship.
