Peace Boat voyages, in support of the United Nations’ International Day of Peace – calling for an end to war and hostilities for a day – have a designated “Peace Day” on every voyage. On this day, a variety of events were onboard held to create opportunities for participants to share their thoughts on peace—feelings that can be deeply experienced while traveling around the world. Even since the departure of this cruise, conflicts and disasters continue to threaten people’s peaceful lives in many parts of the world. Reflecting on the memories made with people from across the globe during this journey, this became a day to again learn about, discuss, and contemplate the meaning of peace.
