Sognefjord cruising

Today marks one of the highlights of our cruise: scenic cruising through the Sognefjord. The word “fjord” comes from Norwegian, meaning an inlet. These dramatic landscapes were formed millions of years ago, when glaciers carved deep U- and V-shaped valleys that were later filled with seawater. The Sognefjord stretches approximately 204 kilometers and reaches a maximum depth of about 1,308 meters, making it the longest and deepest fjord in all of Europe. It is widely regarded as one of the most iconic fjords in Norway. Guests spent their time in various ways—taking in the breathtaking scenery from the deck, or relaxing and enjoying the views from their private balconies and cabin windows—each experiencing the beauty of the Sognefjord in their own way.
