“Fictions into Facts, Facts into Fictions,” the latest film by director and Guest Educator KIM Songwoong was screened at the onboard theater. This documentary highlights the cruelty of the Japanese judicial system through the daily lives of families fighting for justice in two wrongful conviction cases: the Hakamada case, where the defendant was exonerated after decades in 2024, and the Sayama case, which has yet to secure a retrial. Serving as a rare preview before its general theatrical release this summer, the event concluded with a talk session where Director Kim shared his vision and dedication behind the film.
