The ship has docked in Maizuru, a historic port city facing the Sea of Japan in northern Kyoto Prefecture. The day offered a immersive journey through both heritage and local nature—from exploring the Maizuru Red Brick Park, home to historic red-brick warehouses designated as Important Cultural Properties, to venturing further out to Amanohashidate, one of Japan’s Three Scenic Views. Guests also delighted in the region’s rich seafood offerings, savoring fresh seafood bowls (kaisen-don) and traditional fish cakes (Maizuru kamaboko). This was a day to rediscover the scenic beauty of coastal Japan from the sea.
