Walvis Bay and the nearby port towns have a peaceful atmosphere, blending modern touches with a laid-back charm. Around the beaches where gentle waves roll in, there are shops selling distinctly African souvenirs, cozy cafés, and buildings that reflect the legacy of the German colonial era. After experiencing not only the grandeur of the Namib Desert but also the many different faces of the town, we left Walvis Bay behind and set course for our next destination—Cape Town, South Africa.
