Call to Civitavecchia (Italy)

The Pacific World called to Civitavecchia, a town host to Rome’s outer port. Civitavecchia has a deep connection with Japan, and in 1615, the Keicho Mission to Europe landed here. A bronze statue of the leader of this mission Tsunenaga Shikura stands in the town, and the city has a sister city agreement with Ishinomaki City, where they departed from.
