A special presentation highlighting the appeal of Ishinomaki was hosted by Kobayashi Shingo of Peace Boat Disaster Relief (PBV), who has been deeply involved in the town’s journey from post-3/11 disaster relief to long-term community revitalization. Speaking from a firsthand perspective, Mr. Kobayashi introduced the multifaceted charm of Ishinomaki—ranging from seafood harvested near Kinkasan (one of the world’s top three fishing grounds) to the museum honoring legendary manga artist Ishinomori Shotaro (Kamen Rider, Cyborg 009), as well as ongoing recovery efforts. The event built great anticipation for the meaningful encounters awaiting everyone in Ishinomaki, the final port of call for this cruise.
