A lecture was held by guest speaker Takako Fukatsu, an Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) certified teacher and long-time advisor for the onboard preschool, “Peace Boat Children’s House.” Ms. Fukatsu shared that while babies are born pure and innocent, they are deeply influenced by the adults and values they encounter growing up. Speaking from her expert perspective, she explained how exposing young children to all kinds of diversity before they develop fixed ideas fosters incredible emotional richness. The audience—ranging from those interested in education to anyone who was once a child themselves—listened intently to her insightful message.
