We called at Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands and a city rich with highlights such as its historic canals, UNESCO-listed streetscapes, and museums housing world-famous masterpieces. Our first stop was Zaanse Schans, where the traditional Dutch scenery of the 17th and 18th centuries still remains. The green wooden houses and elegant windmills turning in the breeze create a view that feels like a page from a picture book. Surrounded by this peaceful countryside—so different from the developed urban areas—we were able to fully experience the charm of the Netherlands.
