Valparaiso

Valparaiso means “valley of heaven” in Spanish. The slopes fanning out from the harbor are lined with red, light blue, yellow, and other colorful buildings.

Valparaiso, a city 120 km west of Santiago, the capital of Chile, has long flourished as a hub of maritime trade. This is also one of the most famous grape-growing areas in Chile. Chilean wine has become well-known worldwide due to its reasonable price and high quality. It is perfect for lunch or as a souvenir.
