[101st Cruise Report]Stargazing night

June.29th

Normally, the outside deck onboard is lighted at night for safety reasons and that’s why we are only able to see bright stars. Tonight, those lights took break and stargazing night was hosted. As soon as the lights turned off, we could hear participants cheering. As soon as it became dark, faint sparkles started to appear in the dark sky. With no city lights and pitch black ocean surrounding us, staring into the night sky was as if we were in a planetarium. It was one of the most luxurious moment, having able to look for different constellations with our own eyes, while Mr. Ito, who is a guest educator, explained about stars. Listening to the sound of waves from darkness and gazing through the twinkling stars – it became a memorable night, cherishing the gift from the sky.
